Out of curiosity, what's the insect situation like in Southport and vicinity at that time, and through late May or early June?

I don't remember it being a problem... But then again, I'm from Charleston so it's got to be pretty bad for me to consider it bad... if anything we might encounter biting gnats otherwise known as flying teeth or "No See'ums". They are only out when there is no wind during the early morning or late afternoon.

Just made my reservations at the Southport Marina for Friday night and the Wilmington Docks for Saturday night. The dock master at the Wilmington Docks knew about the group but didn't know who had called in their reservations (The big boss has that info). I mentioned the McGregor group when I called the Southport Marina as well. They didn't have anything noted about a group but I got the feeling that the guy that took may not have known about the group coming in anyways....

So if you haven't made the call to Wilmington or Southport, I suggest that you do as soon as you can. Neither required a CC to reserve.

Just talked with Cindy Brown about reservations.

If you are going you need to call and confirm both Southport Marina (910-457-9900) on May 8 and Wilmington City Docks (910-520-6875) on May 9.

Several of us called just now.

Just called Southport and Wilimington. We are good for The 8th and 9th.

Also check and see if the power available at Wilmington City Docks is 30 or 50 amp. If they put you in a 50 amp area,you will need an adapter. We had issues with this before.

Reservations made, sounds like quite a few are calling today

For $14.97 I think I'll get one to have just in case. (If a marine 50amp is the same as an RV 50amp hook up)

Sounds like we are going to have a great turn out. So far there are 11 boats that I know of.

No, RV receptacles are different (NEMA TT-30 I believe). Marine uses twist-lock plugs and receptacles, with the NEMA L5-30 configuration being 30A single-phase 125V (rated), grounded ("L" is locking, "5" is 125V rated, "30" is 30A rated). There is no NEMA standard for an L5-50 (it's not even called that, but I don't recall what it is), and it's basically the same thing in a 50A configuration, but incompatible with an L5-30 receptacle.

And there's also a 50A 125/250V marine configuration, which is incompatible with a 50A 125V plug.

So you'd need a real adapter, of the correct configuration, which is something like $150 I'm afraid. Might be better to use a very long 30A cord from another power pedestal, alone or as an extension, if needed. A 50 footer is around $90 from WM. Maybe cheaper elsewhere.
