That's what I needed when I gave John the Wheel on my boat, besides his trying to sail into the rocks.

Re: Annual Mad Men of Ontario rendezvous III
It looks like I won't be able to make it. My kids are moving back into dorms that weekend, so I'll be very busy, and not in the neighborhood, by a lot.
I'm pretty bummed about it, as it sounds like a good trip to take.

Re: Annual Mad Men of Ontario rendezvous III
Hey guys! Count us in!
We have an event to attend to on the 24th, but the 25th, we'll be there!
I may be still drunk from the night before too:P
So I guess I will book for the night of the 25th. Any idea of the itinerary? Cuz we keep the boat at Toronto Island Marina....I see y'all go into the Harbour so depending, we could meet up there. Lemme know!
Y'all sound like a hoot! This should be fun....as long as you don't leave us in the dust/wake. And if Bryan heels the boat too much, please someone save me....I will have jumped ship
Cheers!

Re: Annual Mad Men of Ontario rendezvous III
Ok, I've emailed them for a slip! YAY!
Very excited about this!
Also, if anyone ventures over to Toronto Harbour before then, let me know! We're usually anchored out at Hanlans if we're not sailing. Heading there today and tomorrow:-)

Re: Annual Mad Men of Ontario rendezvous III
My sons and I are at a concert Aug. 24 in Toronto I'm going to be booking a slip at Harbourfront Centre. I figure we may sleep in and wait for Beene and Highlander and sail back to Port Credit together...I may even book at Ontario Place on the 23 and take the boys to the Ex... Just came back from the Toronto harbour yesterday. Entering from the western gap Thursday night we encountered a 32 foot sailboat stranded, a whole family on board so we ended up towing it back through the gap to the National Yacht Club. Quite an experience getting into the entrance in the dark with the city lights in the background and towing the big boat
. All went well but didn't get to the mooring wall until about 11:15 pm. Was a nice few days. Stopped in on the way back at Credit Village Marina yesterday, I booked for 25 and 26.

Never launched from right across the river just be careful because the launch ramp is short and then drops offs...I think the post marks the spot where the ramp ends.

Is that the only launch ramp in the area? I don't see any others on the google maps satellite image.

Re: Annual Mad Men of Ontario rendezvous III
I inspected the area the other day.
The posts are there for support
Not marking the end of the docks
There is plenty of room for rigging and launching
After you launch, there is lost of parking free available right beside the ramps to the south.
Best place to launch and rig is at the Lakefront Promanade Park in Mississauga.
But if you launch from there, you will have to drive your boat 10 min to the Credit Village docks.
Not a problem as long as you have someone to drive your tow vehicle over to pick you up again.

Here's the link for lakefront
http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=Lakefront+ ... N&t=h&z=15
Beene
I am not sure but I do not think they allow overnight parking in the ramp parking lot accross the other side of the river , also its a very busy ramp on wk-ends with long line-ups the river is very busy & tight at the ramp so its a battle to keep ur place in the line up in the river rustling with other boats & u need to drop someone off to get ur trl into the ramp line-up , even if u get ur boat to the ramp , u'll have a hard time getting ur trl to the ramp to retrieve the boat cause everyone will just tell u to get into the line-up
just depends on the time when u r going in or out, during the week I guess it should not be too busy
I think I'll take the lakefront promenade ramp lots of parking their I beleive thats where Rocky launched last yr right
