With her seated in the cockpit, we're looking at the rudder, eh?
And perched right atop the stern ... is that a Nicro solar vent? ... hmmm.
Our rig is a big risk if we are overtaken in fast moving swells. As long as the motor is working and our fuel holds out, we have a chance at staying square to waves. Unlike our Macs (or the hapless guy under the Golden Gate bridge) she has little rigging to rip up the decks in a roll ... boat is clearly designed to roll safely in a broach.

Could a MacGregor make it to Hawaii. Well, I dunno.

Prepping for that trip is a simple matter of stocking lots of those 'tomato' plants from that post a few back.....
Nice clorox bottle graphics Mark!!

too many "tomato" plants burned, or made into rope, would make someone take a clorox bottle(nicely done) across the greatest ocean in the world.......did you check out the "surfing sailboat" on another string?......whoa big fella!

For a true visionary, could the future bring us the Mac car ferry to Hawaii?

If your dead set on going and want a trailer boat take one that has crossed many times safely. That would be a Norse sea 27 foot trailer sailer. Basicly a cork with a large weight on the bottom. Me personaly I would fly to Hawaii and rent a sail boat there.

Wow that
Nor'Sea 27 looks like a beauty of a trailerable sailboat. I put it in my favorites list.
I really like that boat. Started a thread on it.

That's certainly a nice boat, but an 8100 lb displacement deep keelboat on a 2000 lb trailer is not by any stretch of the imagination a "trailer sailor". Even the manufacturer makes the distinction of calling it "transportable" rather than trailerable.
