I had my grandson translate it for me. He said it's a shame BOAT couldn't get his wind instrument working with his rotating mast. And he wished him luck! :D

Hi All,

Just a follow-up.

I did manage to get a digital copy of the manual. I re-calibrated the unit and it's working perfectly.

I find that I watch the arrow at the top of the mast, when I sail on my own with the bimini folded away. When the Admiral is with me we are under Bimini. I tune the sails to the B&G Wind indicator in the Zeus7.

Keep well and have fun sailing this season.

I bought my boat from Bill! I remember him telling me not to buy a windex just use cassette tape. Well i was newby & decided I "needed" a proper windex. Bought one & installed at top of mast. First time I backed boat into driveway I backed too far & hit the house. Doh! Broke my fancy $30 windex & cracked mast cap. Ever since then I use cassette tape. But to use, the Rolling Stones, that to me is sacrilege! Seen those guys four times, was supposed to see them next week in Nashville, but corona killed that! I now only use my 80's crap music tapes for that purpose! Plus now that I'm older & usually sail with the bimini up the cassette tape is perfect because I can tie them lower on the shrouds & still see them. Cassette tape is the bomb! Although as my eyes get older I do see the advantage of 8 track 🧐🤓

Can you post a link or upload it here or PM me with it or something so we can add it to the resources links on the main site?

Boat,

Hard to say you were ripped off in my opinion. They're out of business.
Having been in sales all my life, I've experienced this scenario a zillion times. Product can have a lifetime guarantee. Makes no difference.
The life time is the life time of the company making it.
Covid has changed the world in so many ways. Not saying that Covid brought this business down, but it has been a big factor in many closures and many more to come.
I deal in the Kubota tractor, excavator, track loader, etc, world. Things won't be "normal" a year from now! Inventories are scarce and I worn people, "if you have something you treasure and depend on, treat it with respect because getting parts for many things isn't an option at this time".
Cheer up and move on. I'm new to this sailing world, but, I've also flown for 45 yrs and don't think this same thing isn't effecting the aviation world.
Most are relatively small suppliers and when it hits the fan like it has this year, there are mortalities beyond people.
I've got an Evinrude 50ETEC, same deal. Gone. Support will exist to some level but it will become increasingly expensive. This is how manufacturers deal with such matters. Dry up demand by pricing you out of the market for parts. Sad but true. Choose wisely and hope for the best.
