I can say that this 26X can sleep 5 comfortably, and 8 in a pinch!!!

Comfortable: 2 in vee, 1 on dinette, 2 in Aft
Crazy: 2 in vee, 2 on dinette (with the help of a 29x5" filler-cushion that I'm gonna make), 4 in the aft (it's essentially a king).

You forgot that you can sleep two more in the cockpit. That makes 10! :P :|

Lol

Have you MET a Canadian mosquito?

I quote from David Thompson's Narrative about our geography: "not fit for the plough, but admirably adapted to produce Musketoes"

I don't think I'd have any blood left slept in the cockpit.

As long as it is 10 other people! :D

I'm picturing in my mind... how many can we stuff into a VW Bug. Back in the 60's when drugs made you do stupid stuff. :?

(and in Canada, if the mosquitos don't get you... the blackflies will!)

The Dalle has something there... Never would have thought to turn a phrase so succinctly
Guess that’s why he’s him and I’m only me.

I’d like to see what 10 on a Mac looks like.🤔
Wouldn’t it list to starboard if someone went to the loo from the port side?🤪
Ten on a Mac would make sardines in a can look spacious.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👦
It’s one way to set a Guinness record. 🏅
Would they all still fit with life jackets? ⛵️

There was a High School Record for students ina VW Bug 🐞 was 1 in the back over the engine, 3 in the back seat, 4 in the front seat and 1 more in the middle though the sunroof for a total of 9 AND we were still able to drive it!🤪 (After a fashion of sorts that is. No suspension, squat footed and a clutch that made very shrill squeaky noises only matched by the transmission grumbling and grindy rumbling accompaniment to the occasional rubbing sounds from the tires on something we were afraid to now about.) The local Constabulary 👮🏻‍♂️ Wasn’tToo Keen (to put it mildly except if I recall his son was in the back with his face pressed against the rear window.)

It was a place long long ago and far far away.........and people scattered to the far four winds whose names have faded into the fog of nearly forgotten history...💫

Seriously, don’t attempt ten in a Mac. :(

Six is the maximum MacGregor said is the maximum to safely have on the boat.

Maybe I’m just reading this wrong, and you’re just being facetious. My bad :D

❤️Love the Vee Berth extension and the lift lid strut with the magnetic catch to hold it in place.❤️ The addition of the fold down table is a great idea! The new upholstery is beautiful.

Really nice!👍

I can do a trip report on the vee berth extension, after a few multi-day trips.

It's a total success and one of the best mods ever. We do not notice the reduction in floor space AT ALL. But we sure notice how much more space there is to sit at the dinette, and so much more sleeping space. And storage! In the big bin we can put 3 gallons of water, beach towels, football and frisbee, and some odds and ends. The little bin isn't as useful, but still gets its fill.

Sleeping arrangements are awesome now, with no arguments and all five of us with plenty of space.

Not making the drawer was the right thing. The two flip-up lids with the struts work absolutely perfectly. I also think the piano-hinges were unnecessary, and simple butt hinges may have been easier to install.

JB weld is great but I did have to go back and mechanically fasten the strips to the two lids, where I had to thicken them by adding a strip of PE to match the hinge flap. Hard to explain, I'll try to get a photo.

The 4" walmart mattress topper is so-so. We also use self-inflating camping pads underneath the mattress for an extra 1/2" air cushion. I can't say I notice any improvement over the 3" foam we had before in the aft berth, but it's also not worse. Comfy enough for a week, but if I ever remake the berth cushions it'll be in 6" foam.

Just an FYI, I recently got extra firm matresses (4 inch) for the v-berth, so far pretty happy. 8)

Firm was Foamorder

I have zip financial interest in them.
