I'm not willing to drill ANY holes in the bottom of my boat unless absolutely necessary (eg: Paddlewheel knot meter).KonstantinAtHouston wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 4:57 am Now, who is willing to drill in other areas? Green, blue, yellow? Anyone?

I've ALWAYS mounted transducers INSIDE the hull. My latest "side view" transducer got mounted in some putty. This had the advantage of being pliable and movable.
At first, I mounted it in the "red" zone. It worked...somewhat. Until I got into deeper water (>25 feet). So I assumed this is the ballast area and it had to blast through 2 hulls and ballast water.
I moved it to "Green" area, stuck it down and mashed the putty into the fiberglass and it's been working flawlessly. NO HOLES.
Now I may be sacrificing accurate water temps as it is only reporting temps of the hull. However, as the boat moves, the hull likely matches the external temp outside. Or close enough, it's not that important to me.
