roller furler--what is best way to secure when traveling?

Storing the roller furler

After reading the above 2 pages I'm more convinced that my last best decision about my furler was the best one of all. I removed my furler and store it in the basement best storage system yet! Sold my RF genoa and bought a hanked genny. I use a downhaul to lower the sail if the weather or a problem warrents, though the sail drops easily if hove too.

I can now step the mast without the raising system. Yes, hanking on a sail offsets some of the time saved of not having a furler.HI trailer alot, over 1400 miles this month. Whether the RF was covered by sleeve or not I incurred damage. Now there is nothing to secure, flap or vibrate.

In my opinion set-up and take-down time is a big deal and should be minimal if one is enjoy the versatility of these boats. :)
