You would have to manually load it with water if it wasnt plumbed in..I dont think it needs a pressurised water system, just a supply. I believe the flush action is pedal controlled.

Looking over the spec sheet, located here, I do not find anything resembling a pump in the unit, only a simple valve that is actuated with the pedal. Seems it must have pressurized water plumbed to it.

This reminds me I need to clean ours out now, from sailing on Pudget Sound last weekend. I think a 5 gal tank is heavy enough to carry in our Mac's.

Do you have it plumbed to a deck fitting or are you pumping it out thru the toilet ?

According to the mfg's manual, incoming water is pressurized at 5 - 80 PSI. Water in & flush out is contolled by the pedal - like an on / off switch, not pump action.
