And just because I like looking at graphs and curves better than tables of data . . .

Image

It's interesting how the MPG and Range curves change slope drastically at 1500 rpm, and flatten even more at 3000 rpm.

Those two curves are really the same, of course, and if I scale the Range curve up by 4, it shadows the MPG curve exactly, as you would expect. It's just not quite as obvious the way it's plotted here.

The plot is based on the data provided, which was taken from a pontoon boat, not a Mac motorsailer, but it's interesting to look at anyway.

It was on the 70's and sunny here today so on a whim we decided to try the etec out .we put the boat in and first thing I noticed was how effortlessly the boat came off the trailer .we had a great day ran flawlessly... it really does make these boats come alive .the boat jumped on plane and seemed like it was easily cruising along at 18-20 MPH on GPS.it topped out at 26 but was only turning 4000 rpm .....way over propped .it has a raker 17 stainless on it ...it also came with a 15 p aluminum ...I should have switched before I ran it .I can't tell you how long I debated ....I could have bought a 25 horse and almost did ....but I had several people ask what kinda sail boat goes that fast. ??? I gotta say I'm really impressed with this combo .

The more I run this boat the more I like it ! It rides a little high in the bow when on plane ! I think this could be over come by how the boat is packed .maybe move batteries or water blatter under v berth ! I was wondering if I should put wedges on the transom or leave it alone ????
