We have lived aboard our 26X MacTrawler in 2012 , 2013 , and most of 2015 with no AC
I will admit it gets hot during the day , but we seldom , if ever , have a bad night .
If we are in harbor then we run two fans mounted on the bulkhead above the bow bed ,
and open the hatch .
If we are on anchor the bow hatch is usually enough . The boat points itself in the wind
and the large hatch scoops it down on us . It is a rare night that we don't get a breeze
but when it happens we run the fans .
Wal-Mart sells 12vdc fans for about $12.00 . They don't live long , but they are cheap enough .
We have discussed ACing our Gypsy and keep deciding its not worth it . The AC makes you a prisoner
in your own small cabin .
I can stand the heat during the day , as high as 105 F in Indiantown , as long as I can sleep at night ,
so far , that hasn't been a problem .
I recommend mounting a few quality fans and clamping a few Wal-Mart specials here and there and not fool with AC in a small boat like ours are .
Confused about AC
