Boy, it sounds like a great time is at hand.
I wish the admiral and I could attend, but we will have Nice Aft in the Adirondacks from Aug. 5-15, and then back to work. Maybe someday?

Can you guys research something for me?
Where is the nearest ramp in TO I can pull out? If I sail to TO but get pinned down by weather, I might want to bring my trailer around to TO, pull out, and trailer home.

What about in Port Credit? It looks like there's a ramp right across the river, but I don't know if it's ok to leave a car and trailer there for a few nights, or if there's a better place.

Re: Annual MAD MEN of Ontario Rendezvous IV
Tom, Port Credit works, and I think the parking is first come first served. Not the best ramp, but busy in season. I would say fairly secure due to fairly efficient area policing.- but don't hold me to that too strongly.tkanzler wrote:What about in Port Credit? We're selling the home but will most likely still be here during August. I can park anyone in the back forty for as long as they'd like, but that's across the lake near Jordan Harbour, where we're coming from. Still weather hamstrung if stuff turns though.

Re: Annual MAD MEN of Ontario Rendezvous IV
I have searched all over trying to find a place where we can rig and launch
And then leave vehicle and trailer there overnight
For several nights
So far I can't find anything anywhere
The place we launch from posts signs everywhere that say no overnight parking
Rocky has used that location for years with no issues
Leaving vehicle and trailer behind for several nights at a time
We have also
However, that doesn't mean we wont get shut down at some point
The ramp across from the Credit Village Marina is acceptable, but not the greatest
You can park you stuff around the corner from that, but again, signs saying no overnight parking
There are storage places nearby that have plenty of boat/rv/trailer slots avail
For a price
Most of the sailing clubs along Lake Ontario have no ramps as they just crane everything in and out 2 times a year

Re: Annual MAD MEN of Ontario Rendezvous IV
Thanks for the info. I'm not a member of any club, nor would I want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member (yeeees, yes indeed), but the Boat US ramp finder shows another ramp right next to the club. Is this one ok for leaving the car and trailer for a few days? Or can I use the club ramp?

Re: Annual MAD MEN of Ontario Rendezvous IV
Both site you see there are public use areas
Neither belongs to any club
Although there is one located right beside it
Neither lot allow you to leave your vehicle overnight, at least signed as such
Like i said, we have all done it, with no issues..... so far
Sadly there is a full service marina right next door as you can see from the photo
Full of slips and boats
Lots of parking room avail also
Yet they will not allow non members to touch their space

Re: Annual MAD MEN of Ontario Rendezvous IV
Coming from the US, I'm not sure I'd want to risk getting towed or something.
Crikey's offer is sounding better all the time.
