Thanks to Heath for updating this site. I have been looking of a site that develops an opportunity for sailors to touch base and to coordinate some sailing activities. This site provides the opportunity to do just that. Good Work Heath.

Heath did not update the site most recently. Heath sold the site to Russ a short while ago and he has been doing all these updates, and I’m sure everyone is most grateful.

Greetings old friends and new ones. Also, in Central Florida. I was more active up until a year ago when I took on a "boat load" of volunteer responsibilities, which have been rewarding, but I am looking forward to more sailing this winter and spring. Most of those responsibilities disappear in January. I keep my '98 X on Lake Monroe in Sanford, Florida. The "lifestyle" angle interests me, too. I just completed 16 years of ownership with my Mac. I have had to make some decisions about getting paid crew to clean and wax it a couple of times a year. For about $500 a couple of young men spend the better part of the day giving the boat a clean and wax. I consider it a great value. I tried doing it with my older grandkids several years, but this way it gets done in one day, and they are, frankly moving on to college and other interests. My wife and I attempted to take a week's cruise on the St. Johns River last month, but the weather just did not cooperate. Got down to the forties at night. The old West Marine heater kept the cabin cozy and warm, but it was just too cold the next morning to get under way and enjoy it. We just stayed at the marina that night, enjoyed the quaint downtown Sanford area, but then went home the next day. Sadly, we discovered our septuagenarian bodies did not respond well to our old air mattresses and V-birth cushion upgrades. Backs stiff and likely to get worse with stress of lifting stuff. We are thinking we'll cruise again in the spring when its a little warmer and stay at motels and B&B's during the night lay overs. But, all that said, we are looking forward to keeping our Mac into our early '80's. Still love a day on the lake with a 10 knot breeze and an Italian sub handy! Cheers, guys, and Merry Christmas.

Just noticed the site was up and working again. Thanks Russ and thanks kmclemore for telling us something was in the works glad this is back up. Called Sumner and a few of the old timers to let them know the site was back up. Will get my thank you contribution in before the end of the week. I really have learned so much from this site. We just finished our second great loop in Nov. 2019. We love our Mac even tho we mostly use it as a trawler. Putting a skeg on the aft 42 inches of the boat made it track like a dream with the auto pilot and no rudders. Thanks again for getting the site up and working.
RIS
Rich,
My apologies, my fault.
I was contacting as many as I could (or at least what I thought I could). I didn’t check my contacts, just went through memory. I should have contacted you and Sumner. I will now go through my contacts and see who I missed.
Welcome back to you and Jill. It’s good to see RIS in the posters again.
Russ has taken a leap of confidence in all of us, and deserve all of the accolades he has been receiving.

Welcome back! Glad to see so many folks returning, and to see the resurgence of activity and friendship on the board. This is without question the friendliest sailing board on the ‘net, and you all contribute to that. I’m glad that I could play a part in ensuring the board’s longevity, and I thank Russ for stepping up and taking the reins.
Happy New Year to everyone!

New site looks great. Thankfully it seems to function well.
Here’s a view off the back this morning. Picture posts are a great additional feature.

This is an old thread but so am I. Just wanted to say hello again to this great forum. I have been out of sailing for a while and just spent some time admiring what some of you have done to return the magregorsailors back to its former glory, and maybe even better than it was.
I hope to be on the water soon and return to active posting.

Opie,
Welcome back into the fold
The fact that you are sailing makes me envious, but Spring is almost here in Pennsylvania.

OK.
Yeah, I know - it's kinda random, but I saw Ixneigh's picture on the water and I got so excited I blurted it out.
