What are the intended routes for Casco & Penobscot? I take it that "Snow in the Carribean" is the theme for Casco?

Dan,
Sure thing Dan. My boat is close to Penobscot at the moment, I am getting shore power installed at Russell's marine in Stockton springs. Will be picking Bleu Marin up a month later than planned as the snow here is never ending....we are presently in the proces of receiving a major snow fall as we speak.....Lisa had flowers out 1 week ago last year....this year we still have about 6 feet of snow in the front yard....my better half is starting to swear (polite non religious swearing) when she looks out side. The dog is also displeased :!:

Amazing Q...three hours drive south we are in the beautiful throes of Spring - snow gone, maples budding, and croci are coming up.

Tulips in the front yard are green and 6 inches high, but no flowers yet.

Amazing for you 8) ...disheartning for me :x .

But I don't care.. ..will be retiring in a few weeks and plan on sailing all summer up here and parking the boat in Virginia or north Carolina in the winter so as to facilitate sailing in the Florida seas ( Cuba....Bahamas...)whenever I want in the winter.

When I told my fellow workmates that I was retiring in a few weeks (freedom 55...the plan was freedom 57 but I bought a blue hull and went crazy) and my plan was to sail the Saint Lawrence all summer and sail in the south seas in the winter....they started reassessing their retirement plans, cause mine sounded so much better  .

I have the MacGregor advantage 8) and it can snow all summer up here cause I can go sail where its not snowing for a few hundred bucks in gas :D

EY QUEBEC1: Congrats on the "soon to be retiring" followed by so much sailing which will create the question: why did I work so long? When you look to the "lower 48" for wintering, DON'T overlook Oriental, NC., the "sailing capital of NC" 8) 8) the costs are more than reasonable, the living is easy. Have many Canadians here, and several local clubs "flotilla" to the southern waters and meet up with those that are crossing over to the Bahamas. When ready, PM this "BLUE HULL YANKEE", and we'll get whatever info you need in order for you to decide where your winter home will be. NC IS less expensve than VA! Y"all come 8) Alice and Stew, "THE RESTLESS TWO"

Hey Stew,
Merci for the invite. :o Up to now the plan was for Virginia beach but who knows! I looked your town up and it looks great! Sure a lot of boats per capita and looks like a good location for sailing just about anywhere. Will pm you before making my winter decision...

The Casco trip will be the same as last year, but with a Carribean theme. We hope to throw in a few surprises.

Penobscot might be a variation of last year, depending on the wind. Haven't planned out the route yet. It just has to include humungous lobsters at Trafton's Wharf!

We're not gonna have to invite the CG on this trip are we?

OK QUEBEC1 looking forward to your PM. Where ever you winter around here isn't too bad, this winter we had 0cm of snow, last year we had 0cm of snow, the winter before that we had 0cm of snow, etc, etc, etc. 8) 8) really boring to have to sail ALL year long :!: :!: orivois(sic) Alice and Stew,"THE RESTLESS TWO"

Now hear this, now hear this.

CG cutter "Rescue Me" will be on station at Casco Bay following the NETS cruise in the event of stragglers....

Get out of the white stuff that covers your boat in the winter. Today was 98 degrees and great wind for sailing at Lake Pleasant. Or you could drop over to San Diego - or - go south to the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California). Sail all year. No! it does not get boring. Think about it.

Hey Dan,
Were you having trouble with the slower white hulled Macs beeing unable to keep up with the faster blue hulls :?:
