Slip fees gone up?

The first mate and I thought we would check on a wet slip for the first year. I did some searching and found the post "Whats your slip costs?"
http://macgregorsailors.com/phpBB/viewt ... t=slip+fee
It's and older post that is from 2006 though.
I got a quote from a yacht club on a large local lake of $180.00 a foot for summer only, no winter storage. Thats $4,680 for maybe 6 months, $780 a month.
Have slip fees gone up or is this just extremely high? I've never even had a house payment that high. Looks like we are going to have to get good at rigging.

Ouch! I guess it depends on demand in your area and features.
Just a quick scan around here:
The marina down the road charges $9.00 per foot per month for under six months or $6.25 per foot per month for over six months. Well, when they've got slips available that is. It's a pretty small and beat up marina and I don't think they have fuel etc. I will say that's very low for around here and they usually don't have anything open.
There's a newer one a few miles away with more features that starts at $17.00 per foot on a year lease. They are mostly empty right now. They've got over 200 slips and I think they've only filled about 1/3 of them.
I don't believe these prices include shore power etc.
There are some closer to the Gulf that are very expensive but the sport fisherman pay them for the convenience I guess.

That is much higher than Chicagos rates, our 28 foot is 3,500 for the season and a 27 footer in Waukegan (far north Ill.) pays 2,400. This includes power and water with other facilities near by. I would expect up your way to pay more that 1500 but not more than 2500 for a MAC on a substantial sized lake.

We're paying just over $1000 for the season including shore power and deposits on 2 keys here in Northeastern Ontario. The marina is literally downtown and just a 3 minute drive from my home.

We pay 1800. for the season, 4 good months, streached out to 6 months weather permitting, @ Lake Tahoe. This is about the cheapest around here.
I don't think they charge that much in Newport Beach, Ca. seems really expensive.

Wowie Zowie - - - I pay $300/mth + elect in Marina del Rey, a premier west coast spot. I guess it depends upon demand where you are slippin'
