I read the old manual for my 1972 Mac 22, and it refers to a mast support that mounts in the cockpit for trailering purposes. No picture was available, but wondered if someone could post one, and where it mounts(and secures) in the cockpit.
Many thanks...

Re: Mast Support for Trailering
What you refer to is called a mast crutch. There should be stainless steel brackets mounted on the inside of the transom, i.e., aft bulkhead forming the cockpit, and this is where the mast crutch slides in for trailering. I never had a crutch with my Mac 25, but luckily the bow ans stern pulpits were very close to being level with the sliding hatch, so I stored the mast running from fore to aft with a fender supporting the middle wedged between the mast and the hatch. I am sure a mast crutch could be made easily.
