M19 Sail Stop Size
Hope you folks can help. I need a sail stop for my M19 main mast to keep the sail from falling down when furling. West marine sells a number of different shapes and sizes and since they aren't cheap, I'd rather not experiment. My boat is at a mooring, so I have no way to measure until I actually go out. Anyone have one on the factory mast?

The Davis 1/2" round stop (on the lwft in the picture) works for me.

West Marine 108332 $10.

Re: M19 Sail Stop Size
Take this FWIW but in my experience those sail stops are not the way to go. If you do go this direction, make sure you buy an extra or figure out some way to keep the stop from going overboard when it falls out of the slot due to pressure from the mainsail. IMHO, this is an inevitable thing. Mine fell out several times and luckily landed on deck, but in the end, it fell out and went overboard. I believe using a simple bungee or drilling a small hole at the bottom of the mast slot and sticking a pin through in order to keep the slugs from sliding out will work better because they do not fall out, and are cheaper. There are other threads on this board covering this exact topic, and I think there is a general consensus that the stopper, while it looks nice and is intended for the job, is a poor solution when compared to the cheaper alternatives that work and don't present the risk (guarantee actually) that they will fail and go overboard, lost forever along with the ten bucks you spent. Just my $0.02. Perhaps others will chime in with their personal experience.
