Moving mainsail sheets on V24?

Has anybody changed the MS sheeting system on a V24 to move it forward?

Do you mean like moving it forward to a traveler in the front of the cockpit or over the sliding hatch? I have never seen it over the hatch; probably impractical due to poptop feature, so a traveler in the cockpit might be the only decent choice. But it would require a change to midboom sheeting IMHO. I've seen this done. You get a traveler system that runs from the inside of one coaming across to the other side at the point you want to mount it. Up against the aft cabin bulkhead pretty close is best I would think in order to keep as out of the way as possible.

Right, my pop-top precludes cabin top traveller. Placement near the hatch would be only option. My primary concern is for performance. Since leverage is reduced with mid-boom sheeting, trimming may require more muscle. Are there any other unintended consequences to sailing performance?

you should be careful if you have end-boom sheeting (as on my Mac 22). I have been told that the boom may not be strong enough to support sheeting from the mid-point and may fail.

I suppose you could use two D-rings on the boom and spread the load along the boom more than if you used a single point. I know I've seen people do this mod before, putting a traveler almost right up against the forward bulkhead in the cockpit, just aft of the companionway.
