I thought I'd try my hand at posting a couple of pictures I took this summer. I was sailing my Mac 25 in the Calumet Harbor region of Chicago, at the very southern tip of Lake Michigan.
I enjoy seeing other's sailing photos, I hope you enjoy mine.
This is my MAC 25 in her slip at the Hammond Marina. I took this before I changed the "pink" windows to the new IDA Sailor smoke tinted. Improved the looks a bunch. I hate to sell the 25, I've had her for a while and enjoyed my time with her.

I don't mind sharing the local waters with behemoths like the Arthur M Anderson. Lake boats like the AMA have been a part of my life since childhood. I enjoy watching shipping traffic and historic boats like the AMA. The Anderson was the ship following the Edmund Fitzgerald, on Lake Superior, that fateful November night many years ago. They were in contact with the Fitz and watched her disappear from their radar. The Anderson spent the night looking for survivors, but you know the story.

My last post for the day. You know you've reached the south end of Lake Michigan when you reach the State Line Generating Station. This powerplant sits on the stateline between Illinois and Indiana. Just a few miles to the east begins the sand dune studded shoreline. A few miles to the west and the skyline of Chicago begins to grow.

Nice pic's Puggsy. Did you get to a place where you could sail or was this just a motor trip?

My daughter seems to enjoy sailing as much as I do. Her concern was that we could bring her Boxer along. We wondered how he would react to a moving "base". Ace walked down the dock and jumped right in the boat. He really seems to enjoy being on the boat (as he does being in the car)

Ace, took to boating quite well.

Ace, in a rare shot of him without his PFD on (it had not arrived yet)

Ace did the most unusual thing, he stared out at the featureless horizon for many minutes at a time. I think it might be primal, as I often do it too.

Here is one of my favorite shot. Maybe it will get me through this awful Chicago Winter. (Single digits last night). I've never had sailing withdrawl this bad, but then, I've never had a new boat waiting.
A view through the pop top. I won't see this view again.

Here is what it's all about. My daughter in the water, trying to coax Ace in (Boxer's don't float well. He likes to touch bottom, but LOVES the water.

Daughter, nephew, niece and Ace will all eventually, swim to shore, play in the sand, and return.

It's sleeting outside

Your pictures are a welcome relief

Only about four more months
I hope all of the members in OZ are enjoying their sail time. Oh yeah, and you people in California and Florida also.
