Do you think if MacGregor made some covers, maybe with a logo on them, it would be marketable? We don't think we could save any $$, just provide some that will fit perfectly and have the M on them. Also. how about suncover on the leech of the genoa?. Would you like a BRA for the front windows? Maybe some dealer has a canvas maker who'd like some extra business. i don't want to do this, anyone else? Now don't try to get rich, just provide us a good value!

My M came with sail covers with the MacGreger logo on them I guess they came from BWY's with there super cruser package.

BWY is about the only dealer in this neck of the woods that provides a decent list of options and sail cover. Then there is KH further south that has an extensive line of aftermarket options. A brand sailcover should be a factory must if they wish to promote their brand more. I don't understand why they don't. There are many items a dealer could stock to assist the new buyer but most do not, probably because of inventory carrying costs, but it would be nice to find some of those one of a kind neato items at your local dealer rather than go on a manhunt mission for them searching every store and outlet on the planet. I am sure customers would prefer the convenience of buying from a dealer than traverse the countryside searching for stuff. I speak from my own frustration of having to go on shipwreck hunts to find what I need. I have stumbled on things in the most unlikely places.

Interesting! That was my question, window curtains you say. Yes each of the larger dealers have canvas makers, all overcharge. Maybe Mac should offer some canvas to their dealers, we have our own canvas shop, make our own cushions, sunshade, carpet. Maybe next step for MacGregor, I'll push it mayana. What do you really want on the Mac?

Curtains, yes . How about vinyl-dipped, closed-cell foam, waterproof cockpit cushions (a la BottomSiders), as an upgrade to the standard set - but at a better price than BottomSiders, of course.

Well, I've got the carpets, bimini w/ cover and sail cover from the guy that sells on eBay and I'm *really* happy with them, so you'd have to beat his prices and quality... no easy feat. But nobody currently makes curtains.. and if a vendor were to come out with a set of curtains for the windows and even perhaps a set of drapes to cover the v-berth and aft berth, together with mounting hardware, that might be a seller. What do you guys think?

I found that valances from WalMart come in many colors and are just about the right size for the windows. The problem is hanging them. The window frames are particle board and wont hold a screw very well. They are too thin to use a proper insert for mounting to particle board. The surrounding hull liner is too thin to screw into and glue or Velcro dots simply wont hold in desert conditions. I have tried the bathroom wall mount hooks from 3M but they pull off too. I saw on the video that the window frames are cut from a sheet. I would love to have the inner "holes" so that I could use piano hinges to really shut them off like porthole covers. I love all the light and pretty view the windows provide but I also like to sleep in and have privacy while in a slip.
A product I would like is an overhead hand rail mounted the length of the port side. Every sailboat we have owned has had handgrips mounted overhead for basic safety. I know that if I pop off the bolt covers there are the ends of the stanchion bolts there. If a rod were screwed onto them with some LockTite perhaps they could provide a solid mounting point. Our 40' sloop had some 1" line running down both sides of the overhead. They went through brass hoops, like upside down oarlocks and were kept in place by knots on each side. Another sloop had teak rails for that purpose.
Another product I would like is a swim step, the Great Grand Admiral has a tough time getting from a tender or her kayak onto the stern.
And yet another would be a solid davit for a 150 to 200 pound tender built into a more solid gallows.
How about stowage bins that would fit above the stern berth on each side. I use the stern berth for stowage and don't need those areas empty. I know others have mounted shelving there but I don't know how I would screw into that area without cracking or penetrating the gelcoat on the outer surface of the boat. I just have no idea how thick it is and don't want to find out the hard way.
Finally a new front to the sliding galley. I find it hard to reach the water storage container under the sink and would prefer better access to the interior of the galley or even a set of drawers. Someone put in simple sliding doors, others have rebuilt it in more elaborate ways.
