I've seen trailer tires exactly like our Mac's mounted on rims that look identical at Wal-Mart.
Sorry, don't know the price, and I am not sure if you can just get the rims, but worth a check.
I am sure someone else will have a better answer shortly.

Mine are pretty badly rusted, so I was thinking about replacing as well.

Ive found buying the mounted tires online is the same price as buying the tires (without rims) locally....go figure.

Any trailer store/ builder / seller will have the rims ands tires.

I got the ones I used when I did the dual axle mod for $14. ea for the tire and rim. Mounted.

I would think that shipping wheels and tires Down Under would be quite expensive. The wheels are nothing special, they are just a Ford 5 lug 4 1/2" bolt pattern and if IIRC they are 14" x 5 1/2". I would think that you could probably find something similar over there. If not, I purchased a couple from these guys a few years ago. Don't know if they export, but....
http://www.lowcosttrailersupplies.com/M ... S/CTGY/WSW (Disclaimer-I have nothing to do with these guys!! :) ) Or, try here http://www.championtrailers.com/ (Again, I have nothing to do with them, either :) )

If you are buying new tires and wheels, I'd check and see if you could use 15" wheel/tire combination to increase the load carrying capacity or at least go with the 225 tire. Again it will add a little bit of extra carrying capacity, not a large amount, but with a Mac trailer, every little bit helps.

Good luck,
Pat

Some one suggested to me that they were Nissan Navara wheels!

We have an :macm: . Had a new tire(225-D rating) ordered and mounted on the proper wheel from our local tire shop. our cost was $75.00 US.

Both tires give a 5500lb carrying load. stew

Darren,

I need to buy new tyres however, the best load index available in Aus currently for a 225/75 15" is 112. Not enough. Am looking for a 116 with 10 ply walls. http://www.bobjane.com.au/load-speed-ratings.html

The OEM's are approx 113 Load Index. Had a blow out on these.

In the mean time I'd like to purchase a 2nd hand Ford rim & std tyre of 15" x 6" in the 114.3 stud pattern. (to get us out of trouble)

I am not sure of the offset though. Any idea of the offset from your experience. Where to buy such a rim from also ?

Kind Rgds
Dave

Thread warning - tire and rim sizes are not internationally standard, so be careful with designations of sizes that cross borders...

I bought new tires mounted on rims from Trailer Parts Superstore / Eastern Marine. They also sell the rim only. Price was not bad:

Hi Dave
My rim was purchased from Swan Tyres in Perth its a 15X7 Mullins Description on invoice is 5x114.3 et10p $81.82 +gst = 90bucks..
It appears to have a 10mm positive off set, the bolt face is 10mm closer to the front face of the wheel than the rear face. I hope this helps
Cheers Darrren.
