I recently acquired this boom furler. It was sized to install on a 26X. It appears to be in very good shape, but I'm wondering about parts support in the US, and if any of you reading this have had or know of someone who has had experience with this unit on a MacGregor. The only site of substance that I've been able to locate is http://www.johnmast.com in Denmark.

I'm also interested in feedback from primarily 26X owners who have used a boom furler of any kind on their boat.

I have not used one before but I did go to the web site and it looks like an easy to install system with mountaining brackets for about 4000.00 EURO no shipping included. Hope I was correct with the estimate program on there web site. Anyone know what the exchange rate EURO to US $ is ?

4000 Euro = $5350...

Sorry, too many boat bucks for what it does when on a Mac the sail is just not that difficult to control.

Of course this is just my opinion...and you know what they say about opinions.

The exchange rate has surely changed sence the last time we were in England, the exchange was anout 2 to 1 US to Euro's. Anyone know what the Mac roller furrling boom cost in comparrison ?

I agree about the price new. I was lucky enough to buy it used for less than the Inmon version, which I understand is not available for an X. Am still hoping somebody can help me with the opening question - especially since it's not a new unit. The original owner bought it through a place in Washington that evidently no longer exists.

I doub that anyone on this board has an in-boom furler. Sounds like you have an awesome setup though. Sorry, this doesn't answer your question. Maybe try to download the manual or just trial & error. Seems it would pretty straight-forward.

I thought I seen on their site you posted thier was a manual download I was looking at their parts manual I think I could build one of these for less than 500$
Maybe later though much later too many mods on the go for now !

On the given web site you listed there is a the instruction and instullation manual showing the complete operation. It looks really simple but I'm a mechanical eng.

I really like the threaded outhall adjustment, I would like to duplicate or something like it for our soon to come loose footed main sail, it would give great control and less mess than a rope system.
