Hello,
I found a neat way to share GPS tracks using Google maps. I take the track off of my GPS and save it as a kml and then upload it to a custom map in Google maps. If your GPS software won't save kml use
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com

Cheers,
Fred

If you have an Android phone, download EarthNC from the android market. A phenomenal GPS / charting solution. There's a free and a $10 version. You can even save charts to your memory card so you can use them without a cell signal, just with your GPS.

KML is the file format that the program Google Maps uses to import/save geographic data.

If you have bsb charts you can convert the .kap file to overlay Google Earth satellite images so you can see depth data and navigation marks. The chart overlay is transparent so you can still see the satellite image. Any NOAA raster chart can be converted in this way In the reverse direction you can convert a GE satellite image to a kap file to display in SeaClear OpenCPN Polarview etc.

With a KML you can also import the file into Google Earth.

Hmmm. I think we should stick to English on this board.

No, Know It All would be KIL. KML is "Keyhole Markup Language." You find it being used in ArcGIS as well.
