I'm currently deployed overseas with the army and wanted to purchase a wheel cover for my father for Christmas but I have NO idea what size to get! He has a McGregor 26 but I'm not sure and model specifics beyond that. Can anyone help me figure this out please?

One of the advertisers on this site has a custom made cover for the MacGregor powersailors.

I'm sure that others will have more input for you. I use an old Weber BBQ cover on mine, but that might be a little tacky for a gift.

Yes, thank you for your service, stay safe.
I cover my pedestal with a 55 gallon trash bag open at the bottom. Then I cover that with a very large zippered duffel bag. One problem with a pre-made tight fitting cover is we don't know what he has mounted on the pedestal. Mine has a hand rail, GPS, and compass. He may have a much larger instrument panel. The wheel itself is one thing, the whole pedestal is another thing . I wish we could help more.

You have26D in your profile ....are you sure about that model?
Do you know when he bought the boat and was it bought new?
Thanks for your service!

Cat, i'm guessing she picked that just to have a complete profile...
(She's in the Army...you don't leave anything blank on any form)

I got the motor cover from Bass Pro Shops to cover my pedastal. It is big enough to cover my 18" wheel plus the electronics I have installed on top of the pedastal.
And it is on sale...I got the blue one as it matches the canvas covers on my boat.

ArmyGirl,
I believe the MacGregor 26D model used a tiller, rather than a wheel to steer the boat. If you can confirm the exact model of your father's boat, I'm sure that there are several people on this board who will try to help you, including myself.
The 26D model was produced in about the year 1990.
GO ARMY!!

Reviving an older topic: For those of you that thought I was joking about the Weber BBQ cover for my pedestal:
I use a Weber Baby Q cover for the Magma kettle. $10 at the discount stores.
