Looked under modified section for these, but could not found any. In some photos I have seen tubes covering your shroud adjusters. PO used 3/4" vinyl tubing. This worked but does not look neat. I found some turnbuckle boots online, but would these work on our chain-plates? Anyone have an idea. Thanks.

WM has tubes/caps that work--they are also useful when rigging as they keep my turnbuckles from fouling.

The PO put on what I assume to be removable chafe guards (with velco) - they work well.

My has pvc tubes and caps with slits over the adjusters. They work ok, but they tend to jamb against each other when putting the mast up, and it's not easy to reach down there from the deck to pull them up while the mast is raised. I'm curious myself as to what others are doing.

Not a good pic, but it's all I have showing the covers in use.

I just use some inexpensive clear flexible tubing from the plumbing department at Lowe's. Slips over the chainplates and is flexible enough that there isn't a problem when raising the mast. Looks good for several years, and cheap and easy to replace when it doesn't. Not a "yachty" solution. but effective.

Mine has the same tubing as Jim Bunnell. During the mast raising process my shroud wire would twist at the tang when I took the tubing off, so the PO had a good idea. After a year or two the interior of the tubing would mildew and not easy to clean. Guess I'll try the shroud boot and cap from Davis Instruments. I don't know for sure if these will keep them from twisting. Thanks for every ones helpful advice. Great people and site.

Thin wall plastic pipe. Cut a longitudinal slit in the pipe to radially receive the shroud wire, or disconnect the adjuster from the hull and slide the pipe thereon axially.
