I recently tried out spray on bed liner on a small spot below the waterline on my X . seems to be doing ok even though its been beached upon....possibly better than the antifoul paint on the rest of her. does anyone know if this stuff is feasible in the long run? yes i realize it'll drag more, but im not racing....and its a LOT easier to apply than rolling on that greasy *%#$ called paint...feedback/suggestions welcome!!!!

What are you trying to protect?

The antifoul is meant to keep slime and barnacles and such from growing on your hull. The bedliner won't do that.

Bedliner is a rubberized material to protect against shocks and scratches. I doubt it has any antifouling properties.

I'd worry it would do the exact opposite giving lifeforms more and easier surface area to attach to :|

Just not appropriate for this application.

Making it stick would be nearly impossible and the critters would absolutely love all the nooks and crannies! :)

As Anti fouling ? It wouldn't offer much.. As For ? Getting it to stick.. Not a Problem at all..Try and get it NOT to stick is more of an issue.. I have toyed with the idea for years.. It would improve the boats ability to be beached .. survive major submerged impact situations etc etc. No More Osmosis issues ? I "think" you could fracture the hull and if the coating isn't punctured ? You'd see no water ingress.. JSYK a Roller applied application is NOTHING LIKE a properly sprayed on application.. 3/16ths thickness and this stuff seems to be all ...but indestructible..Chemicals seem to have little effect on it if any!
I know..BTDT .. that When its Sprayed On... a Wire Brush inserted into a drill motor has very little to any... effect on it.. Body Shops TTBOMK All....Use Heat and an Impact Chisel to remove it , and there by , get the bed bolts out , to replace truck beds, after an accident....

Hey, if the stuff floats, you could probably take all the foam out of the INSIDE of the boat
