So I have the old style rudders on the 26x that I am replacing with the newer square tipped ones but looking at them they look much longer and narrower than the original ones on my boat. Can some one measure their rudders to make sure these are the right ones before I spend the money on the new SS heads, brackets, etc? Second question is if these work with the new stainless steel brackets and heads would anyone be interested in the old aluminum heads and brackets?

From a 2001 Mac X with SS brackets:

Original rudders: length 49", width 9", thickness @ pivot bolt 1.125"

IDA rudders: length 48", width 10", thickness @ pivot bolt 1.375"

Regarding the difference in thickness at pivot bolt, the original rudders were always a loose pinch at the bracket, the new Ida rudders are a tight pinch.

I would be interested in your old brackets and rudders possibly :D also. Need to change out starboard side rudder attach bracket as high wind gusts slammed that rudder into dock while docking. Bent existing bracket everything still works okay but would just as soon replace if you have same type brackets.

Thanks for the info. The rudders that I have are not those sizes so I guess I will need to pickup some more rudders. I will let you know about the brackets since this changed everything.
