Hi everyone. There was something like this on the board before I think.
I have tilt, beep on key turn. Nothing else. Batteries light lights fine. Ive tried start on dead batteries. Nothing like this I checked the ten amp fuse on the plastic flywheel shroud. Any other fuses?Mean time I shall try rowing the yacht since its flat calm. :D :D

Got it. Tried that and thought it was in position. First thing I looked at. Did the full arc of motion and it started. 8)

first check batteries and connections, your lights can work fine but starter won't crank if your down to like 12.2-3volts, and most important make sure you are using XD-100, i hear it's like a magic potion for ETEC's

Another common problem with E-tec is the throttle cable coming off at the engine and the neutral switch not activated.

Also, BRP does not recommend wing nut battery connections--not sure why but they don't. My engine has started with less than 12v. and with one manual turn of the flywheel.

And I thought it was just me. The shifter/throttle lever may be stiff when new. We've only been out 2x but finding neutral is tough. I find I have to watch that the movable part of the lever slides down to engage neutral. My second attempt at docking I reversed the motor, shifted into what thought I was in neutral, I jumped out with the stern line. The boat started backwards. :| luckily my wife had secured the bow. I scrambled gracefully back into the cockpit to find neutral.
I hope no one at the ramp noticed....

Classic.
Did you put it in neutral when you started rowing?
