Wax time. Any suggestions for marine wax, gelcoat friendly, UV resistant, easy to apply?

Im giving 3M's cleaner / wax a go tomorrow or tonight weather dependant. It's supposed to buff out med - high oxidation and provide a lasting finish. We'll see.

Collins Fleet Wax paste is the highest rated wax out there. Tried it last year and had people coming over and asking what I had used. Easy to apply and lasted all season.

Took their suggestion to apply 2 coats to the entire hull, then a third coat around the water line. (North of the bottom paint of course). Had no slime build up all season.

Judging by what's left in the can, it looks like I can rewax at least 3 more times....

I've used the 3M cleaner and wax for the past three years and it works well. I use a polisher to apply the product, then let it dry to a haze, then use a different cloth to remove it and finally give the hull a buffing. I will often need to clean the waterline in August - but it's easy to do in the water with a brush.

To clean from the deck joint to the waterline usually takes about four hours ( two evenings) and several beers!

I think by now you can surmise that there are quite a variety of products that are crowd pleaser's. You are now empowered to wax your boat with confidence.

Another vote for Nufinish, Been a consumer reports best buy since the 1970's, is cheap and sold everywhere, last all year.

I just had ours professionally done and when I asked what they used they told me Yacht Brite. So I'm thinking about getting some for myself to keep up the shine. Kinda like brushing your teeth.
