Question about how to remove stern rail on a 26D

I tried to do a search here but wasn't very successful so sorry if this isn't a new topic but I could use a little help/pics if anyone has the knowledge.

I'm trying to remove the stern rail from my 26D and it is the typical rail that begins on the top of the transom and ends at the top of the bulkhead next to the companionway. My problem is the bolts attached to the companionway bulkhead. How the heck are you supposed to remove those bolts? There is no access plate on the inside of the cabin. (other side of companionway bulkhead) So that leaves me to wonder how did Roger attach the stern rail? When the boat was in pieces maybe before he glued them together? Or is there a block of wood or something in the bulkhead and the bolts attaching the stern rail are merely screws which affix the attachment point to the surface?

TIA!

:)

I do not think stern rails were installed by the factory. They only installed the life lines from the middle of the cockpit fwd. Not positive from your description If it is just the stern rails whoever installed it would have had acess to all the bolts from the laz. Got Pics?
