Water in stern hinging seat of 26x

I'm the new owner of a 97' 26x. Looking forward to getting her into the water in a few weeks. I heard some water sloshing around in the stern hinging seat when lifting, I drilled a couple of holes and a fair bit of water came out. Where does it get in? no possible entry point I can see. Anyone else seen this?

Don't know how the X seat is constructed (M's are solid fg) but it sounds like you've solved the issue, maybe add a few more drain holes to allow it to dry and shed water. Check any penetrations and maybe re-bed with 4200 any hardware attached to it.

Check the edges for any delamination. Mine has a little bit but I haven't noticed any water ingress into the seat.

I discovered same years ago. Drilled 4 small holes in the bottom. No more water. I would not worry about it.

Thanks all,
I have since noticed a little water sloshing in the hatch board, also seems bizarre, I'll drill a couple of holes in the bottom and check the seams on this as well.

I have a 2012 M and the seat is a two piece shell. The two halves are supposed to be securely joined but do develop a crack where the halves meet - water gets in here.

My 1996 26x gets water in there also. Think I will do some small holes.
