I have been using friends to trailer boat to boat ramp only about half mile. But I am looking at getting a new vehicle and want to be able to trailor it my self. I want the capability to take it on highway. So I have not been able to find out what the actual weight of boat might be so that I can get a vehicle that can tow it. I have only found a few things saying 1800 lbs,but that might only be the displacement.

I would like any information that I should need to consider when buying a vechile to tow this boat

1800 lb of boat, plus 200 lb of small OB plus fuel tank, plus 300 lb of personal 'stuff', puts the boat at around 2300 lb. A single axle trailer will weigh something like 700 lb. So that's around 3000 lb of boat and trailer. And since they always seem to be loaded heavier than we think, I'd add another couple of hundred to be safe.

So allowing for a 3500 lb boat and trailer, loaded to actually be used, I'd use a tow vehicle with no less than 5000 lb tow rating. If it were me.
