Just replaced the A-60 coupling inner assembly where I found the back-up solenoid broke off the master cylinder (could have replaced the master cylinder only but much rust). When I went to bleed the brakes (was successful hooking up my pressure bleeder) I found the brake linings missing mostly missing and disc rusted (normal) I belt sanded the disks but would like to avoid the need in the future. BTW, Kia Sophia brake pads do not fit
Another reason I want to avoid rusty brakes - found chunks of rubber missing the entire circumference of the right wheel - looks like the brakes kind of seized up while moving. This is the best reason I have found NOT to install brakes on both axles.
Also found the steel trailer tongue kind of rusting on the inside (about half gone) - guess I will be ordering a new steel tube and have the ladder welded on. I will coat this inside and out in POR-15 or Chassis Saver paint. Temped to also fill the inside with expanding foam (with a PVC tube for brake line and wiring) to keep salt water out altogether.
