Raised boom Bimini fits with standing room. I added 2 feet to the top of the mast. A very nice young man gave me a piece of his old 26X mast, Not a great fit but the track did line up. Will still be looking for a 26M piece of mast. I have not sailed it yet , their are some other things I need to take care of so maybe next week test ride.

The sail only moved up the mast 11 inches, The standing rigging remains the same. And I may cut the Bimini down a couple more inches.

While I believe John raises a relevant point, it sounds like you may have a couple of things going on.

Did you change out the mast as well as the boom? Because, yes that would throw off your rigging.

If you just changed out the boom & raised it by 11 or so inches - while keeping your :macm: mast, that may not be as bad.

I too, have raised my boom 12 inches for more standing headroom for Bimini & noggin. You might be a little more tender - you might not. I did not notice a change that wasn't worth the modification. But then I have a lot of stuff hanging on & underneath acting as additional ballast :P

Just be careful & enjoy yourself 8)

No I did not replace the mast or the boom . What I did was add on to the top of my mast a two (2) foot section of mast. I now attacth the boom to the mast with a sliding boon mount, so the boom can be adjusted up or down .

I am glad you raising your mast has had no ell effect I had thought that getting the boom up a bit might make it a little tinder.

Do you have any photo how you did/will do with the sliding mount?
