Re: Lake Mead record low water level
To the people in the parched south west be careful what you wish for. You of course could have some of the water no longer needed by the residents of IL. As the state has experienced negative population growth for years. Last month Caterpillar just announced they are moving their world head quarters to FL. I will forewarn those in the southwest that I can tell you we live in the cancer center of the US. The states of MN, WI, IA, IL IN have the highest incidence of breast cancer in the US. Most of the rivers exceed soluble chemical concentrations which exceed EPA recommended levels. Believe me it is not snow melt from the Rockies. I hope your prayers for water are answered.

And here in the Rockies we got too much water. Roads into Yellowstone Park got washed away with flooding. Park entrance towns got flooded.
Our marina had the docks sitting on the mud and in one week the lake (30 miles long x 5 miles wide) was 90% full. Finally got the boat launched, but dang, all this water is devastating some people.
Sure wish we could send some of this water where it's needed.

Two things.
(1) These videos are more and more distressing.
(2) The narrator needs to be more concerned about his titanic waist instead of Titanic Burgers.

Apparently not the wrecks…just the current watercraft that get stranded by the receding water levels.pitchpolehobie wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 6:51 pm I hope theyre using this as an opportunity to clean the wrecks up.
It appears that the Park Service is handing out citations to stranded boats requiring them to get removed from the shore ( RE floated or towed away).
If not removed, the current owners are liable for the physical recovery & removal (by land).
There was a couple of recent articles on this which highlighted the plight of a houseboat that became stranded due to an engine issue while it was in transit and drifted ashore. By the time the owner was able to effect repairs the water level had receded such that the vessel was fully out of the water.
There doesn’t appear to be any articles or postings of previously sunken vessel wrecks being removed or prior owners being contacted to have their wrecks removed.

From Yahoo News,
The project, called the "Colorado River Connector Tunnel," involves a "private access tunnel along with associated improvements," so perhaps Musk wants a secret road to enter his giant factory. Or maybe he's looking for a way to travel between companies with stealth.
Or----- Musk may decide to dig a tunnel from a water source to the Colorado River, or directly to Lake Mead?
Don't laugh, that tunnel may be easier than going to Mars....

Featured on this youtube channel how these guys got it removed. Not sure I would have drilled dozens of holes through the hull near the water line to do it, but they got this poor guys HOUSE boat back into the water. He lives on the boat.OverEasy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 5:14 am There was a couple of recent articles on this which highlighted the plight of a houseboat that became stranded due to an engine issue while it was in transit and drifted ashore.
