Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
Well, as we wind down our summer and fall sailing days, I think perhaps we might consider an "off season" event for the folks near to the Delaware Valley... or anyone else who wants to visit the area.
I'm thinking perhaps a get-together of folks for dinner, or even a breakfast, where we can share some camaraderie. Call it a "Gathering Of The Faithful" or something.
If we get enough interest (i.e. a decent number of folks who would attend) we could even make a day of it - perhaps a visit to a winery and/or members may want to host sessions on tips, mods, etc.
Thoughts on this idea? Suggestions as to what you'd like to see/do? And would you attend such an event?
Cheers,
Kevin

Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
Since most our Mac's spend their lives on a trailer, why not arrange a drydock flotilla in an empty lot and shoot a scene from water world or other similar pirate adventure?
Just kidding, the Admiral and I are in. So long as where we go can accommodate food allergies, we don't really mind driving north/south. A lunch would be easiest to schedule for our tiniest crewman.
So far, except for the expected holidays, our weekends are open.

Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
By the way, I’m not planning this for this month… would probably be January, when things are truly dead. November is hunting season for me, so that’s pretty much out of the question, and December is filled with holidays.

Yes of course, I figured that's what you were targeting..
Which means of course Martin Luther King Day (January), Valentine's Day and President's Day (February) are the holidays I was referencing...

Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
Well, hunting season is nearly done and life ie starting to get back to normal around the McLemore household... just have to dress a doe today and put it in the freezer and we're all done.
So... when's a good time to get together in January/February? And who would be interested in attending? I'm thinking an evening winter meet-up at Phil's Tavern in Blue Bell or maybe something in King of Prussia? It really depends on who might be interested in coming - something centrally located.
Thoughts?

Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
Kevin,
As per my text, always up for this.
You and I did this years ago with Chinook; doing it again with area Mac owners is a great idea.
Let’s get some replies from Delaware and New Jersey. The meet up place is flexible.

Widget,
If 202 North is accessible, then maybe King of Prussia could work

Hmm. So… no more takers on this then? Hardly seems worth it.

Doesn’t mean the four of us can’t meet up. We enjoy Rice and Curry. It’s close to both of us.

Re: Philadelphia MacWinter "Gathering of the Faithful"
Yes, we can... but probably not for a little bit. Jan just experienced a health issue yesterday which will delay things a bit.

Great

but there obviously will be a delay, but then again, not to worry, there is a whole Winter ahead of us

Do I bring a piece of the boat? Like ... the wheel to gain entry?
