Changing trailer tire size
Posted: Thu May 30, 2024 4:13 pm
Hello. My trailer for the 88D came with 215/75r14 tires, but noone stocks those around here. Has anyone swapped tires for something that's a little easier to get a hold of?

Thanks Be Free. The local marine and trailer stores didn't carry these, but I was able to order them through West Marine. I went ahead and got new wheels too, mine were looking pretty sketchy. $515 for two tires/wheels for interested parties in posterity.Be Free wrote: βFri May 31, 2024 5:12 am To answer your question: as long as the lug pattern matches your hub, any change in diameter does not cause the tire to rub on the fender or boat, any change in the width does not cause the tire to rub on the fender or the trailer, and the tires are rated to carry at least as much weight as the originals you should be fine.
On the other hand, what you currently have on the trailer should not be hard to find. Good luck.
