Well "Hello Again!" Macgregorsailors family!!
I've been MIA for almost 5 years now, but I'm doing fine and living life. Sorry to have been so distant.
A lot has happened, and then again, it seems like a lot is the same - but life still went ripping by year after year. I think I was last active here in 2020, and unfortunately, none of the time from then until now was spent sailing my Mac.
That's why I'm back. My poor Mac has been sitting in the yard not getting fixed, not getting rebuilt, not getting finished. I think it is time to part ways with it and move on to the reality I am now living in. I'm healthy, in my right mind (mostly), and I could use it if it was fully repaired. I often think about using it again, and where we'd go next.
But the reality is, it turned out to be a project boat, and in a big way. I don't have time for that size and scale of a project. I have a full-time job that requires some travel, and we end up busier than we want to be in the time I'm not working. My wife is over having me outside, MIA while working on the boat, so it is no longer something fun and exciting to look forward to for us as a team. We sailed it a few times while I was working on fixing it up, and it was a lot of fun. My wife and I could both see the potential in it. But it was never really fixed to the point where it could be used without a lot of prep and work. And now I'm just getting older, and the boat is too.
So, if I remember correctly, there is a "classified" section on the main website, and I'll be posting it there.
I miss the fun times on here, but I also can't restructure my life back to where it was when I was last investing time and money in the boat (2018?). This is a great site and I'll always recommend it. But it's time to move on. Hope to see you all out there sometime!

Terrific to see you back vizwhiz; not so terrific that you’re leaving.
Yes, the classified section is still here, still not costing anything. I believe you have to register to place an add.
When you have a sale for the boat, remember to give a small donation to the site; it helps keeping it going. Come back to visit time to time; remembering the fun you had, you might just want to buy another Mac ((not a fixer upper). Plenty of Florida people on the forum.

Thanks, Ray! Yeah, I miss the fun, but it isn't as much fun when you can't participate. I'll find my way back from time to time, and I'll be near the water now and then too...maybe I'll cross paths with some Mac folks when I get there.

Hi vizwhiz!
Sorry to hear your letting go of your Mac but times change and one has to change with them.
There is a time for everything.
Better to let go of things and focus on family (rather than letting a thing become a boat anchor to moving forward to enjoying your life).
We’re sure that you’re going to find it a new home with someone who will love to get her back on the water again.
Best Regards,
Over Easy

Thanks! And yes, I would like to see her go to a new home with someone who is excited about fixing her up and setting sail. I certainly had a lot of hopes and wishes, but it's like a lot of things in life - you can only do so much in a day, in a week, or even in a year.
My wife and I never bought bicycles, for example, because we figured out that we didn't have enough time to spend using them and they would end up sitting in the garage. Well, we just don't have time for everything we want to do, and now we are running out of the big picture of time.

Excellent point! Aren’t we all!!! I figured out a really long time ago my ticket was already punched and I could get kicked off the train at any time… Yeah, time is always in short supply… we just get to sometimes see that more clearly … Just how long is a ‘lifetime’ anyways….?
All we can do is do the next right thing and …. if allowed by whatever fates there may … enjoy the moments we have!
(Full disclosure Note: I had a treadmill that made an excellent coat hanger for the longest time )
Best Regards,

Definitely, gotta enjoy life while we can.
I'm going to post the boat on CL at a low cost, and some other places too. But if someone on here wants it, I'll let it go to them for free.
