Hi everybody
I wanted open the lighting to buy a new lamp, but I couldn't open it and was afraid to brake something.
Can anyone tell me how I can open it :)
Sorry for this stupid question.

And do you know if I can insert some better lamp? or what kind of lamp would you recommend to give a more white light and not so yellow?

Thanks in advance

Squeeze and pull down gently. There is an 18W incandescent bulb in there.

There are LED bulbs that will fit in the socket but they are quite expensive for what they deliver. You can probably find an LED fixture that will run on 12V for about the same price. When I replaced mine I picked up a 4-pack for a bit over $32 so I replaced both of the lights in the cabin and installed one of the leftovers in the head.

As mentioned above, pinch the sides and it will release the cover.

Lots of LED on amazon. It will make a HUGE difference in power consumption. Each incandescent bulb used as much power as ALL my LEDs turned on at once.

Thanks a lot for your answer and the information.
I will definitely buy led ones for the lights, especially if they use less power and shine better :)

I found these ones on Temu
Look that they are the same as on amazon.

Try and support bwyachts. Its a macgregor-specific parts dealer based in Seattle. They have excellent support. Heres a link to the bulb you likely want on their site.

I used those on my 26x.

Edit: just saw youre athens. I suspect that isnt the original Athens, Ohio but Athens greece and bwyachts shipping might be higher

Hi pitchpolehobie,

Thanks a lot for your information and for the link.
I would really like to buy so many things from them, but the shippment to Athens/ Greece and custom clearance make the prices so much higher:(
It would be such a releave for me if I could buy everything from them.
I have seen that they have really great products customized for the MacGregor.
