Can't turn Left!

my 26X can go straight or turn right, but can't turn left. How can I fix this.

check the bolt connecting the steering linkage...if it is too tight, you will have trouble turning in one direction...

Make sure nothing is in the way.

have a look at the swim-ladder ; if it's down it interferes with the rudder.
( ps i've had the problem once too)

Tom disonnect the steering linkage at the control rod on the transom and make sure it swings the full distance side to side - it should almost touch the side of the boat.

This will isolate a steering linkage problem from a steering box/cable problem

Tom,

You might have rudder brackets arms (where they are connected with the steering arm) stepped on and bended. They are possibly grinding your gel coat. If that is the case I found out that it helps to disconnect the motor when sailing and that will relieve some pressure from the brackets, just enough to give you control untill you hit the shore and bend them back.

I had that done twice and finaly installed deck above the controls.
