what is the model number?

Post by David Hampson »

Hi,
my water pump is leaking on my 2000 boat. I presume it is made by Whale.Do any of you know the model number fitted to this boat? I believe you can buy service kits to replace the seals.
Thanks

David

Water pumps are not factory installed options so you probably have to pull the pump or talk to whoever installed it.

Hmm... I thought manual (hand) pumps came with the installed sinks in the galley and head? Where these not Whale's?

Am I getting confused? I need to replace the seals on the manual water pump on the galley sink. I just presumed they were made by Whale! The one in the heads also leaks.

Sorry, thought you meant a standalone water pump, not the galley sink faucet/pump. I replaced mine long ago and can't find the old ones, must have trashed them.

OK, so I went through my "Boat Bits Box" and came across this pump from my 1998 Mac X. It's in great working order and was hardly used at all.

So, David, if you want to send me your address in a PM (click button below) and will agree to send me a check to cover the shipping, then the pump is yours! I've got a pressure system that was installed when the boat was fairly new, so I'll certainly never use it.

(on edit: I'd also be happy with a trade - one 2-litre bottle of Ribena Original Blackcurrent in exchange? :))

I'm still using that same type of faucet. When they stop working right, I unscrew the body, and put a drop of cooking oil on the rubber ring on the piston. Don't lose the clear marble. But I would dearly love to know how to pull the faucet handle out. [ it leaks ] I would put new o-rings on it, and it would be as good as new. Jim Nolan
