Replacment rudder from IDASailor

I had bought a rubber from IDAsailor about 3 years ago and being that we races our Mac 26D we put extreme stress on the rudder. It broke at the beginning of a race 2 weeks ago. I contacted idasailor and a replacment rudder was shipped out no questions asked and extremely pleasent customer service. It's nice to get good service and someone that will stand behind there product.

Normally, when you buy a rubber and it breaks,
there's plenty of questions asked...

Seriously,
I bought replacement rudders for my old 97, Miss "Ollie". I had to shave them considerably to make them fit. My previous owner went from the black aluminum to the rudder steering assembly & I always attributed the sizing difference to that. It took some time between receipt and my installation [5 mo.s] & I didn't want to wait for a new set.
I like that they're solid - think white plastic cutting board material or corian table top. Nothing to absorb water or crack.
I must admit, I'm amazed you were able to break their rudder David?
But glad to see they stand behind their product. I also bought their CB and have it installed currently. It'll sit on the shelf, however, when I get around to weighting my orig Mac CB & reinstalling it.

I was talking to the Anchorage about the IDA Sailor foils. He said they're not as stiff as the fiberglass originals and he's seen some warping on the centerboards; however he thought that the rudders, having a smaller surface area, are probably not as susceptible. I'm still thinking about upgrading to their rudders.

My Ida CB is a little curved. I thought I had it's box leaning too long - on one side before installation. But the rudders are great!

It's the "Extreme stress" on the rubber that I want to hear about. However, I can miss the visual image of someone "standing behind the product".
(OK, we'll quit giving you a hard time David... oops... gad... stop me before I pun again!)
