I didn't post it, but there was (is?) a Mac owner who was fabricating & selling one. But there's no rocket science there. All Spar distributors offer sliding goosenecks as an option on new booms -- DwyerMast, USSpars, Selden, etc. I'll find a link for you.

Hi Frank

Thx for the info I was going to go down to the big T O on fri & shop around some rigging stores & Genco Marine to check out the dodger plans for my :mac19: & Visit my youngest daughter all in the same day but due to the weather , gas shortage up here in Ontario & after spending 1 1/2 hrs blowing the snow out of my drive way. I thought I'm most likely going to spend about 6hrs sitting in traffic , then my daughter phones me said she had no hydro & don't you know it my hydro pops out also so I decided better off to stay home & make it next fri weather permiting so got my little Kipor invertor out set it up on the back patio ran 2 ext cords through the kitchen window plugged in my desk top played on the computer for the rest of the day :) hydro came back on 8 1/2 hrs later man that kipor is some quiet

Thx John

Good feedback on the Kipor.
Never understood that it could produce "hydro" though! :)

Thanks for the link, Frank. That is definatly a modification I would like to pursue. As we trailer our :macm: the boom is on and off a lot. MY Hobie 16 had a sliding gooseneck and I was wondering if it was possible on the Mac.
Thanks again. :)

Caveat Emptor~!

I think Roger's boom is akin to the DM-2, but I've never verified that.
Make sure you have exchange/return rights before wasting 60 bucks, or so.

There seems to be little doubt that adjustable sliding goosenecks are available if you know where to look for them. But could someone please explain how you would use one, and what the advantages are?

As I'm extending my mast by 4ft on lighter sailing days I'll be able to raise my boom & main by the same to catch more wind. I am also contemplating a hard top versus a dodger would also allow me to extend my bimini to 6ft from 5ft while sailing & allow me to go with a longer boom & later with a bigger main sail why the :mac19: is a way under powered sail wise even bill at the mac factory agree's with me on this. and why not I'm beginning to think some of guy's are getting alittle edgey worring about my wee :mac19: running over the top of you's on the water that is under sail :D :D :D only kidding . An old guy has to have something to tinker with hope you don't grude me that Eh. :?
