I have a 2006 E-Tec 60 and only have a few hours on it and want to warn others to check the oil reservoir, mine cracked on the seam and I have found out mine is not the first. They must order and replace, being in Mexico is going to take time, Manana. The other problem is the location of the depth of the motor, it now kicks up water on the sides. Does anyone know the right amount of holes up from the bottom on the mounting plate? Thanks...

Can you pre-mix the fuel in a pinch? That guarantees lubrication..Where in Mexico are you? Whoops, forget pre-mixing. The injection will not distribute the oil properly..You will have to get a tank or make a tank..

In the short term..
Contact dealer, get him to write up the repair service order..
After you have that in hand
remove old oil reservoir and epoxy the tank. Notify dealer that you had an on the water breakdown.
Notify Evinrude customer service.
Call district area rep
remove a few layers of their hide.
Repeat.
Seriously, did you use their synthetic oil??
the epoxy will stand up to the vibration
I would probably badger the dealer for an interim repair while waiting for the new reservoir. I would not thermal weld the reservoir.
Use boat until new reservoir arrives and dealer installs.

Thanks for the info.
The boat is in dry storage at San Carlos and I am at home waiting for the new tank to come in. The old tank is epoxied and has held for temp.
Hopefully the dealer can get the new tank before I return. Anyone with this motor should watch out for smoking, first sign. I have used the proper oil only...
