Grab Handle on pillar
Hi all
Looking through the american sites for the Mac 26X I have noticed a lot of you have fitted a grab handle (some with a table attached) to your boats.
I cannot find anything like this in the UK and wondered if you could point me to websites where I can possibly get such things
Bob

Click on the "deck items" catagory!
Look at the grab bar and table...is that what you want?

I think most of us got them thru a Mac dealer. that is where I got mine. The nicest one I've seen with a table comes from these guys: http://www.dowsar.com/
Difference
I think the main difference is the Dowspar one is made with delrin. The MacZparts one is made with HDPE and does not have the two side pieces. I just sold one from my Garage sale for $125 I guess I should have asked for more. But then everything is always half off
I cant tell if the tube is different.

Dowspar prices are Canadien... So they are probably not too far off... maybe $60 - $80 instead of $200

I bought the one from Bob. Installed it today and am quite pleased with it. Thanks Bob. I noticed that these folks have it for $175. Not too much more than I paid.

We find the flip out sides on the Dowsar make it very useful. You can have it up with the sides folded in for snacks and still easily get by it on each side. Flip open the sides and you have a full width table that will hold plates for dining.
I added a custom binocular box and cup holders to mine.
The Dowsar prices are in Canadian dollars. Back when we bought the exchange rate was better. You will pay a bit more for shipping from Canada and UPS will most likely hit you with a customs processing fee. We bought ours along with our full enclosure which lumped the price into a bigger ticket and they shipped it all together.

Now I feel Bad
Sorry about that John... Now I feel Bad
If I had known they could be bought for that little I would have sold it for Less Email me offline and I'll give you a coupon for $20 off anything else in my collection I'm trying to dispose of.

Yes BobA complicated business in Europe. I am trying to get the simple Crab bar without the table, for more then a year now. But no luck so far. MacGregors Parts are not responding to my online order. I found an other dealer on the West coast of the US that did not want to ship overseas. Desperately I tried to find a dealer in Florida during our X-mas holidays, overthere, but they ran out of business or could not be found. So I am very interested in your successes on this matter.
Blue Water Yachts lists a "Pedestal Guard" in their catalog. Good people to deal with: http://www.bwyachts.com/web%20catalog%2 ... n_page.htm
