What motor easiest to winterize?

When I purchase the Macgregor what engine can I winterize (50HP one) by myself at home? I`ve got a Bayliner 175 now and its a complicated process, dealer charges me $410 to winterize, I pay more to winterize than I spend on gas for the year, thanks.

I don't know of any motor easier than the E-Tec. Hook up a garden hose, follow a few steps in the manual and that's it.

Well #1 your dealer is NOT your friend! Friends don't RAPE! friends.
That little B.L. 175 I/O is a VERY simple procedure to winterize. Easiest motor to winterize is one that lives in Florida
. . . My 50 HP BF Merc is pretty easy. Pretty much run it out of gas, get it home Lift and lower motor with power trim tilt a couple times , add gear-lub if needed to the lower unit ( none as of yet) Use gas in snow blower .

WoW Bring it to me and I will do it for 300 !!!
Put some stabil in the tank
run it for 30 minutes to warm up the oil
drain the oil or pump it out
Put in new oil and filter
Take out the drain plugs and drain the engine
Removetop end of hoses
Replace drain plugs
POur 3 gal of Marine antifreeze into hoses
clamp hoses back on
Lower drive unit to drain it
Unhook battery and put it on a trickle charger
30 -45 minutes after you start

UP in Calgary, with a EFI engine, dont bother to Stabil the gas - just try to have a few gallons space in the tank so you can add fresh in the spring.
With no carbs to plug up, the EFI winterisation procedure is basically make sure you drain the water from the motor.

I don't have motor mechanic experience. And short of taking a course or screwing up a couple of times, there is nothing easier than the E-tec for winterizing. It's a 3-4 minute process where you follow a sequence of lifting a lever & ta dah...
done.
It sounds like you don't have a Mac nor motor yet. If you're getting new, I'd recomend an E-tec for it's simplicity and 300 hr no maintenance other than adding oil.
If you're buying used
Well, I did and repowered as my PO had a 40hp. Also Bigger is better for cruising and hauling all of your... inevitable accumulations
