Anchor Locker Modification

I found it annoying that you couldn't close the hatch on the anchor
locker when you had some of the rode still in the locker. I ground
out a notch in the hatch cover so that the rode could pass through
with the cover closed. We have an anchor mount on the bow pulpit.
The hole is large enough that when the anchor is in the mount, the
chain part of the rode can pass through the hole.

In this picture, you can also see the guide for the furling line. I
mounted it where the directions said, but found later that it brought
the line into the furler a little bit low so that the line tends to
bunch up at the bottom when you have a lot going in and out, as we do
when using the genoa. Using the smaller jib, it works just fine.
One solution might be to mount it a bit further
aft. Just think about it before you start drilling!

Figured how to put the anchor rode and chain in a cloth cooler in the little area forward of the v berth. It works nicely. The little cooler isn't waterproof but makes a nice filter for any gunk that gets on the chain so it won't flow into the bilge....
