Electric Demand Water System

Published date: November 18, 2008

Added a pressurized/filtered water system. Uses a Jabsco Par-Max 2.9 50 psi pressure demand pump with strainer (1/2" model), Shurflo water faucets and Shurflo transom shower, Home Depot GE water filer with a Plastimo 26 gal flexible tank. Parts were mounted to inside the ice chest area (dead space). New 6 switch panel supplies power. The pump is mounted on a 1/2" Clark foam bulkhead stiffener glassed in place with 6oz bid cloth and a 9oz bid cloth pad under the pump (to reduce the noise). The two facets run off the water filter while the transom show is tapped off before the filter. Works great, more than quite enough and uses "dead space". Shower is next and nearly complete.

I highly suggest this relatively cheap modification! We added an electric faucet (small pump in-line) controlled at the faucet by a turn knob, not by a button. The button ones mean you have to hold the button down, where the knob one works just like ...

I replaced the starboard water tank with a better one (flexible type) which is now located below the cooler chest. The filling pipe goes below the headroom through the closet in the headroom and up on deck. You see the filling fitting on the picture....
