Mast Chandelier

I read a few articles and posts suggesting the Anchor light should be lower to the water line, especially in more congested moorings, or in my case around fresh water fishermen with their heads down. Makes sense to me, so this is what I came up with. First I added two of Defender's cheapest Mast Head Lights set parallel Port and Starboard and wired to a single circuit; overlapping 225 + 225 degree from each is now my anchor light. Next I added three LED license plate lights from below the three Mast lights as deck lights. Last I replaced the Mast light bulbs with Festoon LEDs also from The whole thing draws less than the single incandescent of the original Mast light and cost less than a mid-range LED Anchor light. I cheated a little by running four strand trailer wire through the cabin up the mast making sure to tin the connections. Pictures say the rest.

I placed it over the hole closed by the plate hiding the winch bolts. The main problem here was to route the wiring to the panel. Just now there is no separat switch besides that at the light itself. Published by: MS Classifieds
