Sunshade Cover
- Boat Type: Illinois, MacGregor 26X, Boat Type
My 2000 26X is beside my house when not in inside winter storage or in the water. For protection from UV, bird droppings, insect spots I use a 70% agricultural sunshade (FarmTek.com). Easy to deploy and no need to build a frame to support (I do use tennis balls on lifeline stanchions). Water ponding is a nonissue as with canvas. My mast is in horizontal position with spreaders removed (explained in separate mod). The vertical tubes on stern are supports for my solar panel and help hold the shade in position. I found this 12'x35' 70% shade in the 'Shade Remnants' at FarmTek for under $60. Any large nursery has access to this 'SunBlocker knitted shade' material.
