Water Tank - Under Cooler

I installed a 23.5 gallon Nauta flexible water tank in the space below the cooler liner. I lined the area with carpet to prevent chafing, this includes the bottom of the cooler liner. I chose 3/8"ID 1/2"OD polyethylene tube because it is listed as "does not add taste or odor." It fit the Whale electric pump perfectly. The deck fill is located at the port, aft corner of the aft dinnette seat directly above the tank. I purchased a brass hose fitting w/valve to use as a filler (center of pic). The stats are as follows:

Capacity = 16 gallons (just as the liner lifts)
GPH = 1.5
Cost = Tank $145.00
90* fittings = $35.00
Deck Fill (stainless) = $40.00
1/2" Polyethylene Tubing, 25 feet = $5.99

See my "A Place For Everything Galley" mod for sink and faucet info.
Water tastes good. The tubing is gasing off a bit but it should go away soon. The tank does not flavor the water at all (so far).
If I wanted, I could fit a long narrow bag on the outside of the ballast tube (extending up to the forward seat)and pick up another 10 gallons. It would utillize a space that is not normally used for anything, although I do store my head treatment and engine oil there.

    I installed a West Marine 2000 GPH bilge pump with 1-1/4" hose and a float switch under the cooler. I routed the hose to the transom thru-hull. It took about fourteen feet of hose. In the right of the large picture you can see the transom thru-hull j...

    I highly suggest this relatively cheap modification! We added an electric faucet (small pump in-line) controlled at the faucet by a turn knob, not by a button. The button ones mean you have to hold the button down, where the knob one works just like ...

    I replaced the starboard water tank with a better one (flexible type) which is now located below the cooler chest. The filling pipe goes below the headroom through the closet in the headroom and up on deck. You see the filling fitting on the picture....
